That video is fun stuff! It's hard not to sound at least a little jolly on a recorder. 
As for that ukulele...could it be that that light blue color reminds you of a certain someone...or somepony...
In all seriousness, though, I recommend it as a great, simple, go-to accompaniment instrument. Doesn't take long to figure out how to play it at least passably...and if you do get one, I'd be happy to help you figure it out if you feel like I could be useful that way. And one thing to be aware of is that it's better not to play too far down the neck on plastic models like that, as the intonation is fairly poor. But stick with the standard chords and they work just fine!
(Actually, I personally kind of prefer the sound of plastic ukuleles to supposedly "superior" models!)
